Ten years down, we have a grid operating across 1280 kms spanning sixteen Districts and moving on to more. This is a significant achievement as it requires a number of factors to facilitate the realization of a key infrastructure initiative. These in my opinion are

These key qualities, being in place, have facilitated the creation of a grid while adhering to a time – cost matrix.

It has also been a very gratifying experience to witness a lean team of professionals and knowledge workers, project and management partners capitalize on leading edge technologies to optimise performance and delivery. For instance, at the operational level, the SCADA System inputs real time data from remote locations across the pipeline route, thereby enabling online response and efficiency of the system across a robust Telecommunication network.

This rapidly expanding grid demands 24 x 7 monitoring and I must commend the commitment and dedication of our O & M team in enhancing the reliability of this critical network while closely adhering to health, safety and environmental norms. It also strongly endorses my belief that our team can accept even more intricate challenges in the near future.

GSPL operates today through a smart technology compliant environment and has introduced SAP R/6.0 in a phased manner to facilitate radical changes at key functional levels. I am glad that the team has adapted to it smoothly as it will help GSPL to seek higher levels of performance.

As Gujarat gradually phases to a Gas based economy, the demand for natural gas is going to increase manifold. As an common carrier with the largest gas grid infrastructure, the future promises laudable milestones. The grid has to expand to over 2500kms in Gujarat and supply gas to all the 25 districts of the state. This success should also allow us to replicate the model on neighboring states such as Rajasthan which also has an impressive industrial and domestic base.

Energy empowers industry, homes and the quality of life. A clean eco friendly energy fuel makes way for a healthier society and gives the impetus to create and sustain a vibrant economy. We must make sure that we are co-creators of an invaluable asset for the nation in the years to come.
